Topics & Tips to Pass Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Exam

Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate SSGB

SSBG is the second certificate in order after Six sigma yellow belt SSYB, it is wide-known accredited certificate and increase the management skills and quality management knowledge, it is designed for managers, engineers, Quality experts, Deputy managers and project managers

The Six Sigma Green Belt SSGB operates in support of or under the supervision of a Six Sigma Black Belt, and it is introduces managers to process and procedures improvement, waste minimization and value maximization.

There are no specific perquisites to be eligible to take SSGB exam; It is aimed at professionals with a needs for process improvement techniques in their role.

If you interested to take and pass SSGB, the below knowledge areas you should have to be familiar with them and know them in details in order to pass the exam for the first time;

1. When a process operates to a level of 6σ, it is without error 99.99966% of the time; products will be essentially defect free (which means that a process applied 6σ Method will produce 3.4 defects per 1 million products).

2. You should know all of the Quality diagrams and charts, such as Affinity diagram, control charts, pareto diagram (80-20%), Quality function and Ishikawa diagram (Fishbone diagram), and you have to be familiar how they are used and for what purposes.

3. Normal, beta, triangle and uniform Distributions are so important in the exam, you have to spend more time to understand them well.

Questions on Formula of Cp Index is mostly frequented

4. Definitions and terms are so frequent in the exam, such as PERT Estimation, Beta Risk, Specification limits, Repeat-ability index, run charts.

● Books, References & Websites to prepare for SSGB Exam;

1- Six Sigma Green Belt Study Guide; which considered as the main source to study and pass the exam, it contains Sample Questions, and free practice exams of SSGB

2-Useful Websites

Many websites can provide you a practice exams and simulation questions for SSGB, the best of them and the most useful are;

Remember That:

Sigma, represented as σ in the Greek alphabet, is a mathematical symbol used to represent standard deviation, Six Sigma is a Methodology, philosophy, set of tools and culture, aims to define, analyze, and eliminate variability within a process, the sigma level estimates defect probability, there are many levels of Six Sigma certifications yellow belt, green belt, black belt, and finally master black belt (most experienced), some Institutes issued Six Sigma White Belt SSWB certificate for the beginners, but it is not internationally accredited certification.

Why you should consider Six Sigma experts for your operation?
  • Significantly improve your problem resolution process.
  • Significantly improve your transition to Lean office work and manufacturing processes.
  • Significantly improve your project management capability.
  • Significantly improve your decision making process.
  • Significantly improve the outcomes (success) of your key company projects.
Upside to your business:
  • Design and implement accurate and cost-effective data collection systems that will provide useful data for process analysis and decision making.
  • Utilize the predictive power of probability distributions to project process performance in advance.
  • Accurately estimate overall population characteristics from small sample groups.
  • Communicate more effectively with others who require or use statistics in their business activities.
  • Prevent the misuse and misinterpretation of business process data.
  • Facilitate improved problem solving results.
  • Significantly improvement the efficiency and effectiveness of your work processes.
Learning Objectives
  • Provide a comprehensive understanding of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.
  • Provide a working knowledge of the more common tools that support Six Sigma methodology.
  • Provide a working knowledge of common applications of Minitab statistical analysis software.
Intended Audience
  • Targeted for “selected” employees that have demonstrated good project and analytical skills.
  • Their supervisor believes the addition of Six Sigma rigor, methodology and tools will have an immediate impact on projects back on the job.
  • Working on an existing project is desirable for attendees.
Prerequisites
  • Download Minitab 17 statistical software on your laptop JUST PRIOR to attending this class. Consider using their 30 day free trial.  This will leave you 3 weeks to use on your own back at your job before deciding if Minitab is a value-add to your organization.

SIX SIGMA Certifications

Six Sigma is a group of tools & Techniques for process improvement. It was introduced 1st time by  Bill Smith while working at Motorola in 1986, Jack Welch made it central to his business strategy at General Electric in 1995, Today, it is used in many industrial sectors.

Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of the output of a process by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, mainly empirical, statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization, who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has specific value targets, for example: reduce process cycle time, reduce pollution, reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction, and increase profits.

The term Six Sigma (capitalized because it was written that way when registered as a Motorola trademark on December  1993) originated from terminology associated with statistical modeling of manufacturing processes. The maturity of a manufacturing process can be described by a sigma rating indicating its yield or the percentage of defect-free products it creates. A six sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of all opportunities to produce some feature of a part are statistically expected to be free of defects (3.4 defective features per million opportunities). Motorola set a goal of "six sigma" for all of its manufacturing operations, and this goal became a by-word for the management and .
engineering practices used to achieve it

Certifications:
1. SIX SIGMA YELLOW BELT SSYB
2. SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT SSGB
3. SIX SIGMA BLACK BELT SSBT.
